Thanks to those of you who sent back the media release forms so quickly. Please try to get those in as soon as possible for those of you who haven’t.

Being Wednesday we had current events. This semester we are looking at current trends and events in science. Our topic of discussion today was “Toxins are Everywhere, Even in Ottawa”. We talked about the 4 members of parliament who had their blood tested for toxins and were found to have above average levels of pesticides and PCBs in their blood stream. Students are encouraged to follow up our discussion by looking at the website www.environmentaldefence.ca

Tomorrow we are going to the lab to work on an assignment entitled Famous Scientist Wanted Poster. The students will only have one research period. The assignment is due Friday, February 9th which gives them plenty of time. Along with the assignment sheet they have been given a rough draft check off sheet and the rubrics will be handed out tomorrow. The assignment, rough draft check list and the marking rubric are all attached to the blog at the top of today’s entry. Have a great night.
