How to use a hydrometer

You guys crack me up!

May 30

Today we corrected the Activity 2-10 from yesterday. Then we did a lab on measuring the mass of different liquids. The lab write-up for it is due tomorrow.

The weather today is, yet again, cloudy and raining. Hopefully next week will bring better weather.
P.S. There are only 16 days of school LEFT! Hooray!

Today’s information for the blog was brought to you by Erica N!

Today’s trivia question was:

Where does all life on Earth exist? a) biosphere  b)stratosphere

Yesterday’s question was:which of the following animals maintain a constant body temperature? a) warm blooded b) cold blooded. The answer was  a) warm blooded.

Today we corrected our Density computer worksheets. We read parts of the text today and then tested different liquids with the hydrometers.

We finished off the day working on page 81 in our textbook and doing a review sheet to get ready for our last exam.

Here is a neat website to play around with viscosity.

http://atlas.geo.cornell.edu/education/student/viscosity.html

Today we had fudgsicles to celebrate 1000 hits on our blog. We are already at 1404 hits today. We worked on a logic puzzle for density, volume and mass. Remember you can’t do the questions in order.  We went to the lab for the last half of class to work on our Wiki.

I’m loving the images but we need to work on the text as well. Thanks to Leah for the Red Wiggler Composting information.

Yes boys I can check the history and I know who puts the kitten attacking the pitbull picture up. I am all powerful!!

Coke Vs. Diet Coke Density Lab

Check out more video on today's lab at our wiki  science90.wikispaces.com

Coke Vs. Diet Coke

Friday, May 25th, in Rosso’s science 9 we dumped two cans into a fish tank. We used Coke and Diet Coke to see which one has more density. Diet Coke is less dense; therefore it floated. Coke sank. And check out Travis’s and Adam’s gummiebear video on the Wiki.

P.S. the gummybear lab had to be handed in by the end of the class.

AND… The density sheet we worked on in the computer lab is due THIS monday.

Today was a riot. We really got things going with our Wiki. Congrats to Braeden who was the first to post the answer to the contest. He wins a free meal at the A&W. Check out the wiki home page for more contest info.

I apologize to Ashley for budging in on her blog time! We were working so hard I forgot to get her to blog…..tomorrow I promise.

Today we didn’t just play with the Wiki. We worked on a computer assignment. If you weren’t here you can go to yesterday’s blog and print it off. The assignment is due on Monday.

Friday we are doing another density lab called “Coke vs. Diet Coke” . We will have tons of video on the wiki.

1000 Hits on the Blog!!
